However if the video card memory is running at an overclocked LOAD speed and UVD clocks get turned on, the memory suddenly reverts back to the UVD clock speed and gets downclocked when it should NOT be downclocked like this. These are usually "501 MHz core, 1375 MHz memory" for regular 79 MHz memory for ghz edition cards. The problem with AMD is, when VIDEO acceleration is used, something called "UVD clocks" are initialized.

The problem is, when you use a refresh rate which uses a reduced vertical blanking timing, such as 144hz (or when you use multi-monitor or anything that forces the video card to run the memory at LOAD speed), the video RAM has to be run at FULL 3D speeds instead of idle speeds, so that it can retrain the timings during each refresh period. Most cards before the R9 290X (which does NOT suffer from your scrambled screen problem) have an issue with something called "UVD clocks". Reference 7970 ghz editions did not have this problem IF you did not touch the memory clocks in CCC/Trixx/Afterburner, etc).

(I cant explain this easily, but if UVD clocks and BIOS clocks don't match in MEMORY speed, this scrambled screen can happen. it probably has a factory overclock that is different from BIOS defaults.
